Grasshopper: A dark and thrilling ensemble drama of those who defy fate.
The film struggled to build tension, and Suzuki, the main character, didn't stand out. It almost felt like his role could have been left out, since he barely made an impact on the story. The characters mostly acted independently. Although the synopsis suggests their stories converge, the ending felt unnatural and forced, lacking a genuine sense that everything was meant to connect. -

KOKUHO: The Story of a Man Who Devoted His Life to Kabuki
The film "KOKUHO (National Treasure)" truly lives up to its reputation as a rare cinematic event. It goes beyond simple entertainment, offering a poignant glimpse into the performing arts. By combining traditional Japanese culture, memorable acting, and beautiful visuals, it creates a film that will be remembered for years to come. -

ZAKUROZAKA NO ADAUCHI
Amid ongoing turmoil, the enduring spirit of the samurai remains. Not only are the performances of actors such as Kiichi Nakai and Hiroshi Abe outstanding, but the scenery is also breathtaking. The deep red camellias blooming desperately despite the snow made me feel the beauty of life. Watching this film, I felt my heart being cleansed. -

City Hunter (2024 Netflix) : “Ryo Saeba descends upon Reiwa! A masterpiece that exceeds expectations.”
The live-action film "City Hunter," now streaming on Netflix, really gets what made Tsukasa Hojo's original manga special and gives it a fresh update. Ryōhei Suzuki does a great job showing both Ryo Saeba's goofy, flirtatious side and his impressive skills as a professional sweeper. Mochizuki Kaoru, played by Mochizuki Mochizuki, adds a new kind of charm. The movie tells the origin story in today's Shinjuku, making for exciting action that both longtime fans and newcomers can enjoy. It raises the bar for live-action Japanese film adaptations. -

Bullet Train Explosion: “It realistically depicted the emergence of terrorism.”
A Netflix original film that reimagines the 1975 classic disaster movie, directed by Shinji Higuchi of Shin Godzilla fame, set in the present day. Starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, the film depicts the struggles of people in extreme circumstances as they deal with a bomb planted on a bullet train, told from a realistic perspective. A spectacular entertainment blockbuster that thoroughly simulates what would happen if such a situation occurred in modern-day Japan. -

Rurouni Kenshin (2012):”It was a spectacular sword fight!”
The action scenes, which rely on physicality rather than CG, create a sense of tension and thrill. The camera work is also well done. Rurouni Kenshin is not only an action movie, but also a film that explores the nature of the main character, Kenshin, his past, and the kind of character he is. -

PLAN 75. I thought about how my life was going to end.
There were no unexpected developments. It was just a quiet, thought-provoking film about how people die. The film made us think. The scary thing about this is that it is impossible to say that such a society will not come. -

Bosei. The love and pain of a mother and daughter.
It was a story of love from a snarky daughter to her mother and love from the mother to her daughter. Since there were two perspectives, one from the mother and the other from the daughter, I wondered what kind of “twist” there would be, but it was not such a suspenseful story. -
Movie Japan
Onmyouji 0. Welcome to the beautiful Heian Period.
Since the catchphrase reads "Abe no Seimei to Onmyoji" (Abe Seimei and the Yin-Yang Master), I thought it would be an action story about battles against monsters. Still, it was more in the category of a mystery novel. -

Nobo no Shiro. Easy-to-understand period drama entertainment.
It is well thought out, so even younger viewers can easily watch it. It is interesting as a period drama that emphasizes entertainment with flashy CG. This type of work will remain in this era when period dramas are disappearing from TV.
