Cumberbatch is a British actor and one of the most famous contemporary British actors who has built a steady career on the classical stage. He has appeared in many video productions. However, many were BBC productions or films with a distinctly British flavor. His big break came when he brilliantly played the main character Sherlock in the BBC TV series “SHERLOCK. As such a British actor, it was a surprise to see him star in an American comic book film. However, I could only agree with the casting when I saw the movie. He made the role his own, so much so that I can understand why the producers thought he was the only person who could play the role of a proud surgeon who becomes enlightened after an accident and is transformed into a noble sorcerer.

The supporting actors are also surprising yet gorgeous performers. Rachel McAdams, who plays the heroine, is an actress who has received endless love calls from renowned directors. Tilda Swinton, who plays Strange’s mentor, the Ancient One, is also an award-winning actor. In addition, Mats Mikkelsen, the acclaimed Scandinavian treasure, has been cast as the villain Kaecilius in the film. I was intrigued by the unexpectedness of all the actors, who are not immediately associated with American comics.

The film Doctor Strange is also very distinctive in terms of its visuals. Particularly impressive are the mirror dimension, a special effect, and the kaleidoscope of images. The images may have been a bit painful for those who get quickly intoxicated or have a headache. However, the pictures of mirrors cracking and falling and the screen rippling are truly impressive. Although it narrowly missed the Academy Award, it is understandable that this film was nominated for various awards in the special effects category.

Since the theme of this work is witchcraft, we are required to create a world that is different from the real world in the form of images. On top of that, we had to make a space that transcended not only location but also time and space. How the photos become a part of the story and begin to tell the story is something unique to “Dr. Strange. This unique aspect of the film differentiates it from later MCU films. It could have been a distinctive feature in the later “Avengers” series.

It’s a series of flashy or eye-rolling battles typical of Marvel. I love the comical scenes along the way (the interaction with the floating cape is hilarious).

From Doctor Strange to the climax of the “Avengers” series

The film “Doctor Strange” worked well as a stepping stone to the climax of the “Avengers” series. Because of the film’s stand-alone nature, imagining how it would coexist with the other MCU films wasn’t easy. However, after seeing “Avengers: Infinity War,” it is easy to see why a character like Strange is needed in the MCU. Strange’s ability to take a multifaceted, spatiotemporal, and temporal view makes him an essential character for the Infinity and Multiverse Saga. His appearance in Phase 3 was understandably timely.

Many people may not like Strange as a stand-alone story. He is a complex character, and some aspects of him are difficult to understand. However, the film was the right size to introduce his origin story.
