Movie AmericaBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: An ambitious work from the DC Universe.
The movie spent too much time building up to the fight between Batman and Superman, which made it feel overly serious and forced. Batman seemed weaker than Superman, so the big showdown didn't feel like a fair fight. Ultimately, Batman's role felt more like that of a minor villain, and his part in the final battle was somewhat disappointing. As someone familiar with these heroes only through the movies, not the comics, I often found myself confused and detached from the narrative. -
Movie AmericaTransformers: Dark of the Moon. “The Final Chapter of the Sam Trilogy.”
The visual effects and 3D presentation are impressive, but the film doesn't offer much new for those who have seen the earlier movies. Its complicated story and sudden ending make it feel repetitive instead of moving the series forward. -
Movie AmericaTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Offers even more spectacle than the first movie.
The second Transformers movie pushes Michael Bay's style even further, packing in more action and over-the-top moments than before. Early in the film, Megan Fox’s character Mikaela is shown in a shot that focuses on her as she leans against a motorcycle, emphasizing sexuality in a manner not typically expected from a family film based on children’s toys. Other scenes include a honey trap aimed at Sam, the return of the Transformers' "ball gag" from the previous film, dog mating jokes, the hip-shaking of the small Transformer "Wheely," and John Turturro's thong. These recurring crude gags make the film's comedic style distinct, though their appropriateness within the context of a family-targeted franchise may be questioned. -
Movie Australia AmericaI, Frankenstein: “A dark hero who cares nothing for angels or demons.”
Made by the same studio as "Underworld," I, Frankenstein has a similar dark vibe, but it puts more emphasis on action than on horror. This movie is fast-paced and full of action, so there isn’t much time to take in every part of the story. I was glad to see that Frankenstein’s backstory stuck closely to the original, without any strange changes. The production quality and CG were impressive. I also enjoyed the Gargoyle character, which had a fun, exaggerated style that reminded me of stories I liked in middle school. -
Movie AmericaTop Gun: Maverick. “All the joys of cinema—music, sound, visuals, and storytelling—are right here!”
Tom Cruise is back in Top Gun: Maverick, bringing thrilling fighter jet action and plenty of drama. The film has everything fans love about action movies. From intense aerial battles to Maverick’s journey as a mentor, every scene packs an emotional punch. The music, including Kenny Loggins' classic "Danger Zone" and Lady Gaga’s new theme, adds even more excitement and makes the experience unforgettable. -

Movie AmericaTransformers: Packed with Gimmicks That Tickle the Otaku Heart!
The 2007 film brought Japan's Transformers toys back to life in Hollywood. With Steven Spielberg producing and Michael Bay directing, the movie utilized advanced CGI and thrilling action to transform a once-unfilmable idea into a global hit. Audiences loved seeing vehicles change into robots, and the story of a regular high school student saving the world gave it a timeless charm. Its fun style and impressive sound made it the beginning of a much-loved series. -
Movie AmericaIndependence Day (1996), Even From The Depths of Despair, Humanity Will Continue to Stand on Its Own!
Independence Day, released on July 4, 1996, wowed audiences with its impressive visuals, blending new computer-generated graphics and models. Will Smith’s energetic performance, a lively cast, and Bill Pullman’s memorable speech fill the movie with American spirit. The film focuses more on excitement and romance than on detailed logic, making it a standout of the 1990s sci-fi that remains enjoyable today. -

Movie JapanCity Hunter (2024 Netflix) : “Ryo Saeba descends upon Reiwa! A masterpiece that exceeds expectations.”
The live-action film "City Hunter," now streaming on Netflix, really gets what made Tsukasa Hojo's original manga special and gives it a fresh update. Ryōhei Suzuki does a great job showing both Ryo Saeba's goofy, flirtatious side and his impressive skills as a professional sweeper. Mochizuki Kaoru, played by Mochizuki Mochizuki, adds a new kind of charm. The movie tells the origin story in today's Shinjuku, making for exciting action that both longtime fans and newcomers can enjoy. It raises the bar for live-action Japanese film adaptations. -

Movie AmericaThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 “Katniss’s story finally comes to an end!”
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 concludes Katniss's journey with a fierce battle between the rebel army and the dictatorial state. While Jennifer Lawrence's performance and the film's action are commendable, I believe the film falls short as a finale, earning a rating of 2.5 points in my personal assessment. Despite this, its value lies in providing closure to the series. -

Movie AmericaThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 “Finally, the flames of rebellion spread throughout Panem.”
In "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," Katniss, a former Hunger Games player, becomes the symbol of resistance against President Snow. The story focuses on Katniss and Peeta’s rescue and the rebellion spreading across the districts.
