The story is about a survival game called "Hunger Games," in which a few wealthy people control the country and use the poor to relieve discontent. It is interesting to see the tactics outside of the games, such as gathering sponsors, appealing to the audience, and sales activities for the games.

Summary
The near future is far from an ideal world. The only outlet for the people's discontent is a survival game in which young people kill each other.
By Netflix
Based on Susan Collins’ best-selling series, which has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide. The Hunger Games” is a film adaptation of this best-selling book.
Of course, the survival game is interesting, as are the games outside of it, such as collecting sponsors, appealing to the audience, and conducting sales activities for this game.
However, the survival game, which is the best part, is frankly dull. There are too many sudden rule changes in the middle of the game and no exciting moments. There is no sense of theme, such as the questioning of a controlled society or discrimination between the rich and the poor.
Set in a near-future America that has become a dictatorship
This work is set soon in the United States, which has become a dictatorship named Panem. The capital, the Capitol, is the home of the so-called privileged class, where one male and one female between the ages of 12 and 18 are selected from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol to deter rebellion. Only one is forced to play a survival game to survive. It is the general setting. The author is stuck on this 12-18 year old. There is too much of a disadvantage in terms of physical strength, etc., for a player who has just entered junior high school, so to speak, and a player who is old enough to be a college student to fight on the same stage.
Prim, Katniss’s sister, who was almost selected once, is a good example. Prim must have been about 12 years old, and I felt that this girl and Cato, one of the participants, were at too much of a disadvantage. And other things depict a world of how to survive in the face of unreasonable rules.
Excellent way to build up to the start of the game.
This film is about halfway through the movie before the Hunger Games begin.
Until then, there are scenes where the main character, Katniss, and Pete, a selector from the same district as Katniss, receive advice from a former game-winner. There are scenes where the selectors from other districts are introduced. There are training scenes, the selectors are judged by the executives and scored on a scale of 1 to 12, and so on. There were scenes, and the production kept the viewers interested until the game started and gradually built up the excitement.
What is interesting is that right before the game begins, the players are put up in luxurious hotels, fed sumptuous meals, and dressed in extravagant outfits to make them feel like stars. Some players are so excited that they even give interviews before the game starts. The tension-filled expressions on the players’ faces just before the game is about to begin are very realistic.
The performance of Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role, who trembles with fear and tension, is a particular highlight. Although Jennifer Lawrence looks like a child in this film, her strong will and toughness to survive the survival game for the sake of her little sister are really attractive.
The images are too beautiful for the theme of killing each other.
The age rating for this work is PG-13 (13 years and older), so there are no direct depictions of brutality despite the theme of killing each other. Although this is a survival game, the scene in which a group of people who form a group and enjoy killing each other kills a female player who is begging for her life is cut from the actual killing scene.
In other words, despite the theme of killing each other, the ugliest and dirtiest parts of killing each other are not depicted, which gives the impression that the film is somehow settled in a beautiful image.
In comparison, the worldwide hit Netflix original drama “Squid Game, ” which is a survival game, depicts human ugliness, filth, and betrayal to such an extent that it can be called a game of survival. The story of this film, however, does not depict such elements; instead, it has gone for the American taste of emotion and liberation from control and bondage.
A world “all for entertainment” reminiscent of the movie “The Truman Show.”
The Truman Show, a 1998 American film starring Jim Carrey.
This movie was about the main character’s everyday life. Still, it was a TV reality show filmed continuously for 24 hours. This “Hunger Games” also had something in common: the organizers intervened in various ways to make the show more exciting.
The organizers of “The Hunger Games” are willing to change the rules midway through the show to make it more exciting and to create and place the beasts of prey on the computer.
A royal entertainment film
To sum up, this film seems to be a royal entertainment with a few unexpected twists and turns.
I got the impression that the film is a classic entertainment film that anyone can enjoy, regardless of who watches it.
Compared to the people of District 12, who live in highly primitive clothing, the citizens of the Capitol, who live in a more civilized city, have a bizarre appearance from our modern point of view.
The strange hairstyles, bizarre makeup in red, blue, and pink, and unusually long eyelashes are all odd.
However, when you think about it, if you look at modern fashion from the point of view of people from the 19th century, it must still look weird. This weird fashion of the citizens of the Capitol may be a correct representation of the near future.
