There is a ridiculous parade of firefights with very distinctive cars, motorcycles, machine guns, and flamethrowers.
It is not a matter of many flashy explosion scenes, but how the composed vehicles are presented is well done and cool.
And the desert scenery goes on and on, and it’s beautiful. The scene where Fariosa cries when they reach their destination is lovely.
In any case, it’s fantastic! It is overwhelmingly enjoyable! That was the first thing I said when I saw this film.
Decisive car action that accounts for 90% of the film’s main story
The Mad Max series has been top-rated and a social phenomenon since the first three films were released in theaters before this one. This film focuses even more on car action than its predecessors, and its most appealing feature is the unparalleled visual beauty and fast-moving car action, which is achieved through the use of the latest filming technology.
The camera work in the action scenes is also exquisite, and the action never moves so much that it becomes challenging to see; instead, the action is dynamic, maintaining the style of a milestone film in the end-of-the-century genre.
In this work’s scene, the man vs. man battles are armed with various weapons and vehicles that are not limited to melee combat. Each time a new one is introduced, one is entertained, wondering how it will be used and what effect it will bring.
However, this is Mad Max. It does not always end happily for everyone, as in most movies. You can never take your eyes off it, not even for a moment.

The Soul of Director George Miller‘s Films
While many films these days make extensive use of CG technology, CG was only used in this film’s visual effects (VFX) portion. About 150 stuntmen were prepared, and all action scenes were recorded in live action.
None of these shots have been enhanced with CGI in any way. The video shows the making of the CG composition of the film.
The wilderness where the action scenes were shot took 128 days to complete. Still, due to astronomical probabilities or perhaps a divine act, it rained in the wilderness where the film was shot. As a result, the wilderness turned into a “green land. After 18 months of effort, another location was selected.
Director George Miller’s cinematic spirit, with its persistent commitment to reality, will continue to build the Mad Max series to new heights of glory.
The life of the main character “Max
The hero, who lives in a world without salvation, meets “Furiosa,” played by Charlize Theron, the heroine of this film, and gradually opens his heart to her despite the trauma of the death of his wife and daughter.
Tom Hardy, the lead actor in this film, has only about 100 words to say. In the first 20 minutes of the film, he hardly speaks at all, but he shows his back to the audience.
This image of a righteous gunfighter who stands up for the underdog has earned him the French expression, “a western in a car. It is an existence that always fascinates people’s hearts and, simultaneously, gives them hope that such a story could be told and people could be found in their neighborhood.
No discovery at all!
I enjoyed it even if I had not seen the previous films!
Throughout this series, although there is a rough connection with the previous film, each story is an independent series structure, and the only common point is the main character and his past. Therefore, even beginners to Mad Max who have never seen the previous film can enjoy it easily.
On the other hand, it has been 30 years since the previous “Mad Max: Thunderstorm,” so if you want to enjoy the action scenes that have significantly evolved with modern visual technology, watching this film and seeing the previous films later is a wise choice.
According to the director, this film is one of a trilogy, and “Furiosa” and “Westland” will be released as spin-offs in the future.
List of “Mad Max” series

- Mad Max 2 (1981)
- Mad Max: Thunderstorm (1985)
- Mad Max: Death Road to Fury (2015)
- Mad Max Furiosa (scheduled for release in 2024)

Another story to impress
While this film tells the story of “Max,” the main character throughout the series, we have to mention the activities of “Nukes,” played by Nicholas Hoult, as the other main character.
The war that erupted in “Mad Max 2” should win the Best Mob Award for the way Nieks, whose life expectancy is being threatened by radioactive contamination, becomes friends with a red-haired woman who has fled the “fort,” abandons the boss he has believed in throughout his life, and fights for his friends with his life on the line.
Although the focus tends to be on the heroic tale of the main character, the way each character, including the mob, has their own life and fights while struggling within that life is a masterpiece that cannot be put away by the term “end-of-the-century story.
