Movie AmericaTIME. A society where the difference between rich and poor is expressed in the currency of time.
The setting where time has replaced currency is attractive. People in the slums constantly struggle, managing their lives minute by minute, while the wealthy, in stark contrast, waste time. This resistance to capitalist society is depicted in a manner that highlights the injustice of the situation. -
Movie JapanNobo no Shiro. Easy-to-understand period drama entertainment.
It is well thought out, so even younger viewers can easily watch it. It is interesting as a period drama that emphasizes entertainment with flashy CG. This type of work will remain in this era when period dramas are disappearing from TV. -
Movie AmericaThe Hunger Games. Survival Game of Life and Death
The story is about a survival game called "Hunger Games," in which a few wealthy people control the country and use the poor to relieve discontent. It is interesting to see the tactics outside of the games, such as gathering sponsors, appealing to the audience, and sales activities for the games. -
Movie AmericaIron Sky. The best B-grade movie ever!
It is a B-grade movie comedy film, full of quips from start to finish. However, the battle action is surprisingly robust. In space, the battle scenes are terrific, with both sides mixing and mingling. The politics are sometimes too chaotic, but this can be forgiven because it's a black comedy. The end of the film is sad. It is not funny. It is not a film that will appeal to everyone, but at any rate, it is a film that conveys the director's love for the subject matter he likes and the things he wants to do.
